So we started exercising again

We’ve belonged to a gym but took most of the last six months off until both of us were totally well from surgery. So we started back last week…could have gone much sooner according to my doctor but I wanted to be sure I was ready. Been walking on the treadmill…not a bad way to start.

Now, back pre-op, my maximum speed was between a 2 and a 2.5 and very little incline. I would manage 20 mins but that was about it. Today I did 30 mins and my average speed was 3.5!!! I was actually at a 4 for two and a half laps. And I am at a 3 on the incline. Still not much but was told long ago to stay under a 5 regardless due to a very bad back.

Never would I have thought I would do a mile in 15.50 mins at my age. That just blows me away. Have to see how fast I can manage two miles at some point.

Apparently I need the workout

When I work out, (ie: pulling wallpaper, tiling, painting, etc) I do fairly well in the weight lose dept. I average about 3-4 lbs a week. Stop that and my loss slows down greatly. I end up losing about 1 lb a week. So I have found another room to renovate, LOL. the downstairs bathroom has wallpaper. So starting Monday, I start pulling more wallpaper.

I hope that will get me into the 150′s. I’ll give you a report if it does.

Sorry I’ve been slack on the updates

Part of what has kept me busy has been renovating the kitchen and bath next to it. I’m not finished by a long shot but it’s a great way to lose a lb or so every other day.

I’ve also taken over a digital scrapping store that has me going nuts beating my head against a wall.

Okay, things that have gone well…
I am now a size 10 in jeans.
Getting in and out of the tub is easy compared to three months ago.
I’m halfway to my goal weight.

Things I still need to work on:
Getting all my fluids in, my protein, my vitamins.
I’m losing my hair. Yeap, that is starting to happen.
I’ve noticed my temper is a little quicker…something my husband did the other day finally pushed me to the edge. I got upset with him and said so in words not nice.

I guess it’s about par for the course for week 10.

I am NO LONGER OBESE (BMI is 29.9 today)

I tipped the scale at 171.8 this morning which put my BMI at 29.9 this morning, I am not longer OBESE. I cracked the Morbidly Obese heading into surgery so that one was an early on victory. This one took a bit longer.

I’ve been watching the scale all week cause I knew this one was coming.

Another one is close behind it…cracking the 170 mark, I haven’t weighed less than 170 since my early 30′s. I was in the military and weighed 155 when I got out, I blossomed quickly to 165/170 by the time I hit my mid 30′s and haven’t seen anything lower since then. So I will be heading into somewhat new territory for me…territory I haven’t seen since I was 20-35 years old.

Been sip, sip, sipping so much, my tummy rumbles…..

I feel like I am so full of liquid that nothing else will fit in. And my tummy likes to rumble at me in lovely musical tones that gurgle.

I’m beginning to HATE my water bottle (which actually has white grape crystal lite in it right now). It’s torturing my tiny tummy with liquid!!!!!
